What are the cancellation policy available ?
As a boat owner, selecting the right cancellation policy is crucial. It directly affects your revenue, especially when dealing with last-minute cancellations. On boatUnity, you can choose between three distinct cancellation policies, each with different levels of flexibility and protection.
Flexible Cancellation Policy
This is the most lenient option for renters. If they cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled check-in, they will receive a full refund (minus boatUnity's service fees). However, if they cancel within 24 hours or after check-in, no refund is issued for the first rental day. You must refund the remaining rental days if the booking spans multiple days.
Moderate Cancellation Policy
Renters get a full refund (excluding boatUnity service fees) if they cancel at least 5 days prior to arrival. For cancellations within 5 days, the first day is non-refundable, and only 50% is refunded for the remaining days. Post check-in, only 50% of the unused days are refunded — past days are non-refundable.
Strict Cancellation Policy
To receive a full refund, the renter must cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 full days before check-in. Otherwise, only a 50% refund applies. If the cancellation occurs within 7 days of check-in, there is no refund. Cancellations between 7 and 14 days before check-in will receive a 50% refund.
The cancellation policy you choose can influence your booking appeal. While strict policies provide more financial protection, flexible ones often attract more bookings. Consider what works best for your rental strategy and target renters.
