What is the No-Withholding Guarantee and how it works ?
At boatUnity, we are committed to providing you with worry-free journeys. That's why we've established the No-Withholding Guarantee: a simple safety net designed to protect both owners and renters.
Defined by the owner in each listing, this guarantee is not charged to your card at the time of booking. It is only used to cover minor damages that are not handled by insurance. Such cases are rare, but we aim to offer a transparent and reassuring framework.
If you're renting from a private owner
By confirming your booking, you agree to reimburse for any damages up to the amount of the guarantee set in the listing. This amount will never be charged or held in advance. It simply defines your maximum liability for the trip.
If damages are reported at the end of the rental, the owner has 14 days to submit a request via our Resolution Center. No amount will be collected without investigation or prior agreement.
If you're booking from a professional
The conditions remain the same. The no-withholding guarantee acts as a liability ceiling, mentioned in the listing. If an issue arises, the professional can initiate a request from their account within 14 days after the end of the rental.
Our team will then gather input from both parties to facilitate a fair resolution.
Disputes and billing
If an agreement is reached during the mediation, you will receive a separate payment request for the amount agreed upon with the owner. This amount will never be automatically charged. Payment only occurs through the resolution process.
Protection and transparency
The no-withholding guarantee creates a trust-based environment without hidden fees or upfront holds. As a renter or co-navigator, you are protected by a clearly defined liability. For owners, it's an additional safeguard in case of issues.
