What happens in the event of an incident occurring during the rental or co-navigation?
First and foremost, the owner or captain must provide a well-maintained boat that meets all safety standards. They are responsible for ensuring the safety of everyone on board, including themselves.
Despite careful maintenance, incidents may occur. In such cases, the safety of passengers remains the top priority.
If a breakdown results from a maintenance defect and interrupts navigation for more than half of the planned rental or co-navigation time, the renter or co-navigator may request a cancellation with a prorated refund.
However, if you choose to continue the rental, no refund will be granted thereafter.
If the breakdown is caused by mishandling of the boat by the renter, the owner can file a dispute through our platform. Claims will be capped at the amount of the non-withhold warranty stated in the listing.
During co-navigation with a captain, the co-navigator is not expected to take the helm. If the captain hands over control to the co-navigator, they assume full responsibility. Thus, no damages can be claimed against the co-navigator for improper handling.
